Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.
So, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
